A memory from my acceptance into UNC Asheville: being excited about the opportunity to live in Asheville for the next four years.
As I student I was involved in: served in student government; worked as resident assistant in the Governors Village; played intramural basketball and softball; and joined Phi Alpha Theta, the history honors society.
On a Friday night in college you would have found me: hanging out with friends in the residence halls.
The most significant change in the physical campus since I was a student: the new residence halls and the Highsmith Center. When I lived on campus 1977-1981, the eight small dormitories in the Governors Village housed only 300 students.
My favorite tradition at UNC Asheville: the Scholarship Brunch where donors get to meet and interact with students they help support.
When I visit Asheville, I have to grab a bite at: 12 Bones Smokehouse.
My dream weekend in Asheville includes: hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, walking the grounds at the Biltmore Estate and attending an event on the UNCA Campus.
No. 1 tip to a fellow UNC Asheville grad who has lost touch with their alma mater: visit campus during Homecoming Week and attend as many events as possible.
