Waters, who worked as director, producer, cinematographer, editor, colorist and music director on the film, is the founder of Waters Film LTD, a production company specializing in narrative and documentary films and television. He’s served as the director and cinematographer of a variety of films, television, and music videos, and has had his work published in The New York Times, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NPR, and Billboard, among others.
In reviewing F11 and Be There for The New York Times, Glenn Kenny wrote, “The film is as beautifully composed as Uzzle’s pictures. The director Jethro Waters also shot the movie, a subtle feast of light and color. The animated sections illustrating Uzzle’s past, by Cable Hardin, consist of white lines drawn against a deep gray background, and work beautifully. The music by Natalie Prass and Eric Slick is propulsive.” The film also received accolades from the Austin Film Festival, the Riverrun International Film Festival, the Impact Doc Awards and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.
